Luck of the Irish

by | Mar 17, 2019 | 0 comments

I bet you all didn’t know that Will has a little Irish in him – and I think today was the perfect day to cash in on that luck and we most certainly did!

Will was eager to bust out of PICU but got derailed yesterday evening and spent an extra night there due to another 108 degree fever and some scary looking stats. He was pretty adamant to be moved back to his man-cave this morning and his docs complied but on the the way up he spiked another big fever so we held on to our faith that this kid is one tough dude with God on his side and held our breath as he fought through it.  Last status was looking pretty good so we are taking this as our good luck today, as of now Will remains tucked back into his spot on the 7th floor with his Aunt Jay Jay (my amazing sister who has just flown in from Michigan) by his side.

Came across this today:

May the Strength of God pilot us.
May the Power of God preserve us.
May the Wisdom of God instruct us.
May the Hand of God protect us.
May the Way of God direct us.
May the Shield of God defend us.
May the Host of God guard us.

We definitely feel everyone’s prayers and love  – I ask for protection of Will’s body to carry him through these next few days so that he might at least be given the chance to finish the clinical trial and move on the bone marrow transplant. It is the only way to save this beautiful boy as he leads the way to new and better treatments for this horrible disease.

I have to especially thank Will’s Thea Nicole – she has been a constant by his side and her love feeds a well of support that is never ending.  We are truly blessed with so many who look after us, who go the extra mile, who think of us daily, who check in, who pause in their day to say a prayer or send their energy to us.  I simply can’t name every one but rest assured, I have noted every single act of kindness no matter how seemingly small or big and it ALL matters.  I am a changed person – I think we all are.

May the sun set with so many blessings to each and every one of you…may God’s love be in the hearts of all who love us.  Slainte…..

Will’s Stuff

While in treatment Will was often confined to his hospital room. In order to satisfy his creative and entrepreneurial nature he opened up a little online clothing business featuring his own designs. Soon after he began donating portions of his own proceeds to childhood cancer charities and in in this spirit we have kept the store open and ALL proceeds now go directly to WillStrong Foundation. Shop with purpose and help us help others!
