Lolo’s Angels

by | Dec 17, 2019 | 0 comments

Those of you on Facebook have probably seen a few posts about a fundraising campaign directed toward Lolo’s Angels.   A little back ground:  two local high school students (Ainsley and Abby) were inspired by Will’s story and decided to craft their senior DECA project around the idea of raising awareness and funds for pediatric cancer.  Lolo’s Angels is a wonderful organization, founded by a fellow mama of an AML warrior – they are doing important work, all volunteer based and jumped right in when we asked if they would “host” this campaign.  Abby and Ainsley have been absolute rock stars; their efforts include fundraiser, hosting a bone marrow drive, organizing community events and give back nights all inspired by WILL!  If you have not had the opportunity to get involved and feel moved to do so, please consider making a donation to Lolo’s Angels in Will’s name.  Every penny donated will go directly toward research for better treatments for pediatric AML – it is a very underfunded area in the world of pediatric cancer.  In fact, did you know that only 4% of national research money is directed toward childhood cancer (all childhood cancers).

Lolo’s Angels is just $3,000.00 shy of our fundraising goal of $65,000.00 for 2019! If you have year end charitable contributions to make, please consider our organization! We have two campaigns going on for fundraising. Our local campaign is to meet our pledge to raise $100,000.00 for the Children’s Survivorship Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska by fall of 2020 (We have already donated $32,500.00 towards this pledge!) Our other current campaign is to raise between $20,000.00 to $25,000.00 in honor of Will Maniatis-Where There’s A Will, There’s A Way! Will Maniatis is battling fiercely against relapsed pediatric AML in Denver, Colorado. All proceeds from this campaign will be donated to the Children’s Oncology Group Foundation-Target Pediatric AML Fund in Will’s Honor! Every dollar will help! We are a 501c3 non-profit, so your donation qualifies as a tax-deductible donation!

I will include the link in “WAYS to HELP” and if you make a donation please note that it is in honor of Will.  Thank you for being a part of our journey and for being the change needed for children going through this horrible cancer.

Will’s Stuff

While in treatment Will was often confined to his hospital room. In order to satisfy his creative and entrepreneurial nature he opened up a little online clothing business featuring his own designs. Soon after he began donating portions of his own proceeds to childhood cancer charities and in in this spirit we have kept the store open and ALL proceeds now go directly to WillStrong Foundation. Shop with purpose and help us help others!
